As the College moves forward toward our 200th anniversary and beyond, our aim is to offer an ethical and experiential education in an ever-changing world. Specifically, Guilford provides:

  • Close faculty-student relationships
  • An innovative, practical, and interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum
  • A nurturing campus community
  • A grounding in Quaker-inspired values

A Vision for the Next 3–5 Years

Guilford’s President, Jean Bordewich, envisions that in the next 3–5 years, Guilford will become financially sound and fully accredited. She wants to:

  • Deepen our investment in high-quality teaching
  • Infuse ethical leadership throughout our offerings
  • Attract a broader range of students and supporters
  • Increase the impact of the College and its students

Ways to Support Guilford

As we work to secure financial stability and long-term sustainability, we are excited for our alumni, family, and friends to invest in various areas of the College. At this time, the most impactful ways to support Guilford are through unrestricted gifts (Loyalty Fund) and scholarships.

Loyalty Fund

Unrestricted gifts are the best gift to make to Guilford because they provide the greatest flexibility and impact for the institution. The College is able to direct these funds to where they are needed most — so that we can use funds strategically and responsively.

We are able to put these gifts to work right away, maximizing their impact on the College. With a lean budget and high standards, this immediacy is especially helpful to Guilford.

Scholarships

Guilford wants to remain competitive in the higher education space and provide financial aid to students for whom College remains an expensive proposition. Scholarships are an incredibly important part of the College’s budget — when we can offer better aid, we can recruit and retain the best students.

Annual scholarships in the categories below begin at $25,000 over 4 years ($6,250 per year). Scholarships will require an application, and the award will be given upon acceptance to the College.
